what about this, if your R/V is setup as 30AMP.and you plug into 50amp with adapter you could overload your 30amp system before the 50 amp breaker would kick. CAN THIS HAPPEN?

No. The RV is protected by its inside 30 amp breaker.
  • Since you are in Texas, as I am, I would recommend an RV with 50 amp and two A/Cs.

Unless I am using the tongue test to see if the circuit is live, 50A service is my choice.

Would you make a video of the tongue test and post it? :)
  • Are you asking whether I'd buy and RV with 30A or 50A or if I'd rent and RV spot with 30A or 50A?

  • I have the 30 amp plug and can run most things at the same time but will only run one of my two air conditioners at a time. 30 amps has about 3500 watts available, 50 amp system can handle something like 12,000 watts.
  • Unless I am using the tongue test to see if the circuit is live, 50A service is my choice. I would chose it either in the coach I am looking to purchase, or in the site I am looking to set up in. It offers much more flexibility.
