The microwave is a dometic 1000w output. As far as the A/C we want to be able to cool it down possibly after traveling in the hot sun. Obviously in cool weather we won't need the AC but I was thinking it might be nice to cool it down if sleeping at a truck stop or walmart to get it comfortable before bed time. Most of the reviews. I read on the champion said they were quiet comPared to the normal open frame gens.
I wasn't sure what most people do as i am new to rv'ing. If most people just use the vents on hot days I don't see why we couldn't do the same. How much quieter are the on board onan gens that come with the class a motorhomes? I have only visited a few campgrounds so far and heard generators but to me they weren't bad. I guess mainly I want to be able to recharge the batts. I have 2 golf cart batterys 230ah and can recharge from 50-85 using the converter in 3 hours and the max wattage is 750 watt ac from the shore plug (kill-a-watt device). Anyway there are some conflicting views here. The 3500 watt champ says it is national park compliant. If you register over 60 db and you do it anyway so you can recharge to use the pump and have lights, do they kick you out? That sounds kind of mean, I thought running a generator was a standard part of rv-ing.
