Big difference in where you two live I would be willing to bet summer temps are no where near what the OP experience. I have a seasonal up north to get away from the heat. Where I go most people don't even have A/C in their home. Where my home is July August temperature can reach 110F+. The real torture is high humidity with high temperatures. Most Canadians come down for winter and long gone before summer arrives, with good reason.
If I camp in summer in a hot area I search out a COE or state campground that has electricity.
