50 amp Power Cord

When our trailer was new, it was difficult the first few times to get the cord lined up and seated properly. We put a little dielectric grease on the plug and that helped. We also marked, with a magic marker, where the little button on the side of the cord had to be for it to align correctly. Thankfully now that we have plugged and unplugged the cord many times, it is much easier.

Cords with plastic insulation start losing their flexibility below 50°F.

Cords with Neoprene® insulation are still flexible at -40°F.

Also pricy, I may need to bite the bullet and get one though.

I took the threaded ring off. Once twisted into place it isn't going anywhere. I also left my 50 amp cord at home for years as it was stiff and hard to coil in cool weather, Then I cut it in half and added the required ends. If the post is beside the trailer I use the shorter of the 2 pieces and if I need both I just put them together and I'm back to 35 feet.

We bought the 90° adapter and there isn't as much pulling force as there is with the straight connectors. The cord is a little stiff when cold, but not that big of a deal. Definitely not worth paying what they want for the more flexible ones, at least IMO. Maybe when I get old and feeble. :)

I use a 50 to 30 adapter with 30 amp cord. Much easier. Only one a/c.
