My city has an ordinance against street parking for RVs, utility trailers and boats. I think there's a 3-day time limit. There was a public meeting earlier this year discussing changes of the ordinances in which the city was looking for public input. There is a current limit of 28 foot length for RVs, utility trailers and boats parked in your own yard or driveway. There is no limit on the number of RVs, utility trailers or boats.
The ordinance is very old and the city wants to update to be more in line with other local cities that allow longer units but also limit quantity of units.
Part of updating the units is because there are a lot of oversized units throughout the city. City council realizes that recreational vehicles are getting larger and wants to change the law to accommodate the larger units. They also realize there are only two storage yards within the city for RVs. They don't want to keep people from storing at home but they're trying to strike a balance.
The current ordinances have been temporarily suspended however until they adopt new ordinances. I think there is supposed to be another public meeting at a future date after the new ordinances are written, but prior to adopting.
