$500 fine San Antonio

Yesterday The city of San Antonio raised the fine for parking “oversized” vehicles in any residential area. Went up from $35 to $500. No parking in the street , no parking in driveway not even for trip prep. Oversized vehicle are any boat or trailer over 24’ long, over 8’ wide, or taller than 8’.

I get it about large rv ‘s parked in driveways forever but no exceptions for trip prep? Come on! Is it like that anywhere else? Has anyone had any problems with this?

  • I park wherever I want to park, ( north Fl. Panhandle) I do not think I would want to live where I could not park my unit. No matter what size.
  • Not even in the owner's driveway, on private property? I'm skeptical that is even something the city can regulate. A HOA maybe, but not the city.

Now if the owner is parking RV on his/her property and renting them out.... that's a different matter.
  • Wonder if they are having a problem like Portland Oregon where they have large numbers of derelict RV's with people living in them all over the city.
