Speedy trips allow you to see lots of paving. We usually limit ourselves to about 200-250 casual miles a day. When we stop, we explore the area around us, and experience the whole USA, not just destination locations. Works for us :) and we find some real treasures occasionally ... out of the way places. Sometimes small towns have nice local spots of interest, or town square entertainment we don't expect. 'Surprise us', we say, and pull off the highway ... we travel back roads, no Interstates.
We understand that works well for us 'retired folks', not so easy for those who depend of off-time and vacations. Someday, folks :) You'll get here too. Sometimes we smell the roses, sometimes we smell the cattle. Sometimes, it's hard to tell the difference.
