We already launched - and came home again :-) And it was our "maiden voyage" with the 5er - we had never even pulled it before we drove out the driveway with it following the truck...LOL!! Now I don't necessarily recommend that folks do that - we bought a 10 yr old Laredo that the owner assured us worked perfectly - and it did. It would have been a darn cold trip if the furnace hadn't worked, for example....

Bottom line - we REALLY like camping with a 5er!

Heading local on 4/11 for the "make sure everything works " run then heading to see the mouse at Fort Wilderness on 4/23. Wife is getting really tired of wiping my drool off the house windows!

59 days for us. We're heading out to the Smokies for spring break. Can't wait. The kids have never been there. Yesterday I booked a June trip to DC-none of us have been there either. We have 11 trips planned already, some are local weekend trips, but it's all fun no matter where we go. Can't wait to get started.

Countdown app says 79 days before the first night of camping, but really 65 before we take it out of storage. That's 2 weeks of driveway camping bliss.

End of March for me to hit the road anywhere we decide off the cuff just to get out and start the rv season.

I left Kitimat this afternoon..Tuesday. Pick up the Boss in a week in Vancouver, drive to Seattle, fly to Houston to begin a 14 day Gumbo-Blues Tour of the Gulf. Back to Seattle-Vancouver. Sharon flies back north and I turn and burn for Death Valley and Tecopa Hot Springs. Do some visiting here and there..make martinis at the hot springs..go the The Slabs to visit a couple folks and say good-bye to a feller that is dying. Head back to BC via the Sheldon Wildlife Preserve...weather depending....and on up thru Oregon's Great Basin.

I have Diamond Willow hiking and walking sticks to leave behind...you find via GPS.

Still not home tho...maybe by mid May.

We are probably about 30+ days til launch. Hope our snow level drops. We have kept the motorhome plowed out all winter, but the banks from the snow plows are so tall that we won't be able to make the swing out of the driveway! Fortunately we have a neighbor with a front end bucket that will be able to knock the banks down if needed. Three feet on the level in the yard and banks waist high plus.
Can't wait to hit the road with our new rig!! Maiden voyage countdown!

Fla-Gypsy, sure would like to get down your way in the near future!! The coast (Oregon) was in the low 60's over New Years.
