sad story her but true;
the dealers around here had a kinda net work for different brands of used vehicles . pu trucks in particular.
my favorite dealer and happens to a friend, had two fairly new fords diesels for sale. quite a discount.
i stopped to look at them and see what was up. why 2 new lower mile diesel so cheap? when looking for my dura-max i had scoured the country for a good chev or gmc that hadn't been hopped up, in the oil field, coal mines, or just run out on miles. couldn't find good used and ended up going new.
any way i asked him why so cheap on the fords.
his answer "the ford dealers won't take them from us any more. we have to drop the trade price we allow our customer in hopes we can turn them, or send to the auction. means we have to pay below auction for trade and the original ford customer takes the hit"
not saying good or bad one way or the other.
am saying if you do go with a ford, do research in your area. make sure you don't pay $30000 or so for a truck thats only bringing $12000 at auction.
don't be the guy that has to take the ford hit.
