Have you considered supercharging the V10? It's not the distance, it's about the seat-time it takes to get you there.
If it came new like that I would buy it at once for the RV. V-10 runs good but climbs a little slow, but as I have said, there is no prize at the top of the hill. The diesel gets there first, but then they smell, smoke, shake, leak, parts are very high, and the motors breaks easy at the wrong time. And you bring in all the oil on the floors.
