I was on Coumadin (rat poison) for several years. I was so glad when my doctor started me on Pradaxa. No monthly checks, no changing dosage, just one capsule a day. I don't know if everyone can take it, but it works for me, and I trust it a lot more than I do Coumadin.
I am on Humana and was told that Pradaxa was not on our plan. I also travel a lot and checking my blood will be a problem, and I may go ahead and contact my insurance provider and see what they will cover. I would like to not have to get checked wherever we go.
