IMHO it tells me the campground where you stayed is poorly run/poorly managed. If it was run/managed correctly they would have had at least one staff members circulating through the campground on a hourly basis and at the very least at the start of quite time. Since this did not happen then it can be only two things they are poorly run or they do not care. I am not a campground owner or worker but I would advise not to condemn all commercial campgrounds because of one poorly run one or one that does not care.
Again INMHO if you had cell coverage you could have called the campground and placed an anonymous complaint. However since this campground was not doing what they should have been doing I do not know if it would have made any difference.
As far as boon docking the worst experience we have ever had camping was at a boon docking site. Loud music, people screaming, cussing, fighting and loud Harley's ALL and I do mean ALL night long. And not smart to complain to anyone since they were all LAW ENFORCMENT OFFICERS yes LAW ENFORCMENT OFFICERS from all over the county on a let there hair down weekend.
