A newer Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Hey good folks,
Is a newer Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (2013 or newer) an easy hook up and go?
How do you like the 290 horse engine? Are you happy with your newer Grand Cherokee Limited?

~Thanks, John

I never heard or read that anywhere??:h
  • I heard rumors about the adaptive cruse too but they are just that... rumors, no basis in fact. I have a 2014 Overland with adaptive cruse and it tows fine.
  • I also have a 2014 Overland with adaptive cruise. It tows very easily. That adaptive cruise is WONDERFUL. The best feature since original cruise. Of course that has nothing to do with it's towing ease. I moved up 12 technology years from a 2002 to a 2014. WOW,, TED

Check the capacity of your tow equipment. They are heavier then one might think. Also if I remember correctly you want one without the smart cruise. I look that them but decided on the Cherokee Latitude instead.

Why no adaptive cruise? I tow a 2014 Grand Cherokee w/tech package which includes adaptive cruise. Simple as can be to tow, put tranny in neutral hit neutral button on 4x4 selector, turn off engine and go. No fuses or electrical drains to worry about. BTW in my area the adaptive cruise which works to a full stop is fantastic in stop and go traffic. Lastly, the total weight is right at 5000 lbs, so make sure you have the proper setup.

Jeep has a recreational tow chart in the downloadable owners manual. It will tell what you need to have to be able to flat tow. Almost all vehicles with the 2 speed 4x4 are flat towable. None of the 4x2 are.

  • The 2013 was nice but there was a major upgrade in 2014. All new interior, exterior freshening, new 8 speed trannies, and of course the EcoDiesel option.
