I belong to several Facebook camping groups. I find them entertaining and useful. It's a younger crowd for the most part than the bunch here at RV.net, with a lot of newbies and families with young kids. Most are focused on a geographical area or particular interest such as restoring old campers, etc.
Like any other forum, the key is effective moderation. Some have that, some do not. The key seems to be not allowing off topic posts, political or religious posts, or commercial sellers. Facebook groups are all pages that are started and run by Facebook users, so they do vary a lot.
