Abilene

Abiline, prettiest town I..... Snow by morning. Was going to sing the song but i can't carry a tune on keys either.
Hope you all haven't put away your long johns.
  • Normally winter ends in S.C around the beginning of March but when I left home last Sunday I was still running the heat at night.

I am planning on going to NY soon, I hope it warms up before I have to leave

PS I blew out a tire in Georgia last Sunday (4/28/13) and had to sleep at a truck stop while I waited for the tire shop to open Monday morning. I ran out of propane and froze my butt off. It is not supposed to get cold that far south in late April

Well.... I carry a tune well or so I'm told.

Abline, Abline, perttiest town that I've ever seen
Women there, don't treat you mean not in Abline, my Abline.

Weather there, is something mean, Oh yes in Abline, my Abline.
  • I never caught on why that song was written about Abilene TX. Been through there many times going south to visit dads family south of Houston. Just have not seen the beauty of Abilene. I do respect the fact that at one time it was a huge cattle
  • We lived in Abilene for 3 years when I was flying B-1s out of Dyess AFB. I wouldn't describe the town as pretty, but we loved it there. Very family-oriented community.

We had several inches of snow one morning. Everything on base shut down. Flights canceled. Schools closed. All of it had melted away by noon.
