She insisted on hosting Thanksgiving dinner every year, then also insisted on getting a migraine and retiring to a bedroom while the rest of us enjoyed the meal. Of course, we paid the price for enjoying anything while she was feeling bad. After all, we were SUPPOSED to be catering to her ills, not enjoying the meal or company, despite her insisting we carry on without her. Lucky for me, the old bat died this past summer. This will be the first Thanksgiving in 38 years I will actually enjoy.
