Abusing

Many, if not most, of the YT video comments are negative. And rightly so.

I see both sides to this:

One one hand, if he is showering at an edge of a parking lot, with only a few gallons of water, that is one thing.

However, I am concerned about one point, which related to the tragedy of the commons: What would happen if everyone did this? No, it isn't expressly forbidden, but shouldn't this be done in a park or at least off the road, rather than in an urban area where the gray water may result in lawsuits against WM, calls to the city/state/Feds about biological contamination, and may other things... especially areas where RV-ers are disliked already and the local populace is looking for reasons to ban overnighting in their area.

Common sense comes into play. Just because it isn't expressly forbidden to do an action, doesn't mean it should be done. Peeing on the back of a WM building isn't forbidden, but people just don't do that.

The gray water thing may not be much, but it can be enough impetus to get politicians involved. To boot, the Youtuber in question has a very popular channel, so it is assured that the local city council and other politicos where that WM is have seen this. This does not bode well.

While I'm not advocating this sort of thing - I feel he did that as discretely as possible....LOL! The biggest problem is the "Gray water being dumped on the ground" and where do you draw the line?

He did it discreetly from passers-by... but he videotaped it and put it on YouTube, which is a concern, as it will give fuel to the anti-RV types that use the "OMG, sewer water being dumped" as a way to get overnighting banned.

And he's a Milwaukee fan. Go figure.

Geez...at least he could have pulled the van right against the curb, so the water would have landed on the grass (giving it and the tree a little drink) instead of the parking lot.

Who remembers from grade school, the teacher would say "Keep your eyes on your own paper?" We need to more of that....we need to pay more attention to what we ourselves are doing and not be so nosy about what the other guy is doing.

Not the classiest thing, showering a Wal-Mart parking lot, but who's he hurting? At no time was he visible in any state of undress, and that solar shower bag only holds 2 gals of water tops. What makes everybody think that as soon as one guy does it, there will be hoardes of people rushing to shower *outside* in a Wal-Mart parking lot?? LOL! Surely not any worse than how people dress to shop in Wal-Mart!

America was built on rugged individualism, leave the guy alone. If he had enough cash to buy a fancy RV, he wouldn't be full-timing in a van. This site is turning into a bunch of cranky old curmudgeons looking for ways to criticize their fellow citizens.

We need more compassion in this world, not criticism.

I did think that. He was right next to the planter area and was wearing shoes anyway, wouldn't have been a big deal let the water run where it could be useful.
