Do the dealers not show people that the awning can be done this way? It is so much nicer than having the awning with the arms out, however, I don't think the awning is as stable.
Actually it is much MORE stable to have the supports on the ground. The wind does NOT move the camper around as much as the supports are not pushing on it, they are instead sitting on solid ground. We always put or support legs on the ground( this is called the "carport" position) at the beach, when we know there will be plenty of wind.
