Ahhhhh...retirement

We needed to head down I-5 to help our son's family yesterday and witnessed first hand the on-slot of traffic going north at a snail's pace, trying to leave Seattle for Memorial Day weekend. So thankful to be retired. All the years of being one of those working stiffs trying to leave town sure makes a guy really appreciate it.

We returned from 9 night's out east of the Mts earlier this week, and we will head out next week after Memorial Day toward the coast. It's good to be able to to stay home on a major holiday like this and watch the traffic reports on the evening news rather than to experience it first hand.
  • We never travel on Holidays as we are retired and always leave during the week .
Retired 16 years and enjoy nearly every min of it. Worked 40 years for the same Company and don't miss working for I min. Will be traveling {camping} for three months shortly along the ocean
  • One year of retirement for me. Absolutely love it!
Would highly recommend it to anyone. After 41 years at the same job I hope for many years of retirement.
  • Ahhh is it! You're not selling your time to anyone any more. And if you have a chore to do, there's always tomorrow....
  • Retirement is good work if you can get it. The pay isn't so good but the hours are great! It has been 13 years so far for me!
  • I worked for fifty years, I hope to retire for fifty. So far, so good, 43 more years of retirement to look forward to. :)
  • Enjoy your retirement and, go while you are able. Don't put it off.
    Enjoy your travels. :)
  • We always joke about "how did we EVER have time for that "W" word?" - it's definitely a 4 letter word! Unless by "work" we define puttering on the trailer or boat. :)
  • Congratulations

Yea, isn't it great!!! Camping & traveling during the week, instead of weekends!

I've been retired for 2 years now, the DW said I could get a camper, now she said it was to get me out of her hair. (It's a used TT to putter with).
