i use a few flakes of pool chlorine on the outside of my house filter element, when i replace the filter. i also put a few flakes in my hose before connecting to a new water source after flushing the faucet and hose.. i usually keep a half tank of fresh water in the r.v. and yep a few flakes go in before the water… never have had any issues with algae….
