All in one washer and dryer

Purchased a new fifth wheel and asked to have one of these all in one Washer/Dryers included in sale. Ill be living in the Camper 2/3 of the year I thought it would be a nice Add!!!!

Whats everyone's take on it. Are they ****??

Thanks
  • We had one in our previous motor home and found it pretty much useless. Had to wash/dry every day. Finally stopped using it for a washer/dryer and used it for a dirty clothes hamper.

When we got our new motor home, a stacked washer/dryer was a #1 prerequisite!

  • we spent a little over two years living in a 32 foot triple slide fifth wheel, with a vented Splendide combo. We really enjoyed it! For best reaults, we found that:
    1. Wash only small loads. For me, that meant jeans, shirt, underwear, socks.
    2. Use ONLY low suds detergent, and not too much of that!
    3. Remove clothes and hang or fold as soon as dry, to minimize wrinkles (if you care about wrinkles. Actually, I did not, but DW did.)
We often did two loads per day. One in the morning when DW got home from work, and one in the evening after my shower.
Large items went to the laundromat about once a month.
    For us, it worked great.

As with so many things, some folks swear at them, some swear by them.
Try it, you may like it. Of course, read and follow the instructions!

We've had both the all-in-one and stacked versions. As long as the single unit is a vented model it'll work fine. The key for them is SMALL loads.

The advantage of the stacked units is you can do a lot more laundry in less time. That's what we have now and love it.

Ditto. We had a Splendide combo then switched to a stacked Ariston when the Splendide gave up the ghost.

    Night and day difference.

I use my Splendide 2100XC as a clothes hamper for colors and when it is full I run it. I have a separate build in hamper that I use for whites.

I full time and would not be without my Splendide.

Full time for 10 years. First MH had no washer and I lasted one year doing the laundromat thing. Bought a new mh just to have washer. I have a vented splendid evening combo and live it. Sure you do small loads but so what. Average a load pet day. I don't stand around watching it so who cares if it's slow.

Oh yeah another thing, you don't have to have as many clothes and don't have a big dirty clothes hamper taking up room
  • And with your own washer/dryer you don't have to wonder what was washed in it previously: Some terrible color dye, who knows what "nasty stuff" might have been washed, etc. I know exactly what has been through mine.
  • Our Dynasty came with the combo w/d and we used it exactly two times in the eleven years we have had the coach. Before our latest trip I removed the unit and converted the space to a cabinet with an extra shelf and a place to hold our hamper. If we needed to do laundry there are always options in the campground we are at or in the immediate area. For us, the w/d was just taking up valuable space.
  • In our 16 years of full-timing we didn't want and didn't miss a washer/dryer. We never found laundramats in towns to be dirty. There were people working in them that kept them very clean along with the surroundings. We used public parks the majority of time so didn't have hookups. We did laundry every 10-14 days and didn't have to think about it inbetween. It worked for us... everyone has different needs.
