If there is some adjustments, corrections, etc. needed, the time to make them is in a more relaxed setting *BEFORE* you leave on a long trip. This way, when you do leave for that 3,000 mile shakedown trip, you'll already have a lot of confidence that all is working as it should.
We did this when we set up our Jeep to flat tow recently. Very glad we did, too, as there were some things that needed initially tweaking with the brake setup.
Same system we had in the CR-V, and it weighed more than the truck does....lol, put 30,000 miles on that setup. Thanks for the advice, but if anything is needed I'm sure it will be VERY minor, maybe adjust the "rate" the brake is applied to the toad. We've been towing behind an RV for over 30 years now. Now we're finally retired.
