Alrighty, sanitizing the fresh tank

Gee whiz, wish I had not got on you tube for this. All set to use bleach when hydrogen peroxide is better for parts in the RV, or vinegar or chlorine! What do you all use. I do not have a by pass on the water heater be nice to not worry about what I am using for that end.
Thoughts
  • I use bleach and only a small amount say a cup for the whole 50 gallon tank. I first drain the water tank, put in the bleach, then refill the tank. (I could skip step 1)Then run the pump and fill the kitchen sink three or four times from the hot water faucet to make sure the bleach solution gets into all the hw lines. Then run hot and cold everywhere for a bit to get the solution in all lines. Let it sit overnight then drain the water tank and refill. Repeat all steps to flush bleach solution out of the lines.
  • Our TT manufacturer recommends 1/4 cup bleach for every 15 gallons which we have followed for the last 8 years.
