Thanks Chris. I looked it over. It seems to be the same rigid stuff widely available online and at local RV shops. Yes, I need a substance that is MUCH more flexible than the little (and questionable) amount you can get with lots of heat and lots of patience.
On one blog somebody said, "Not too much heat or you'll end up with a wet noodle". I don't want a wet noodle, and I'm not sure exactly what they meant by that, but the flexibility of my original stuff is closer to a wet noodle than it is to a modern stick of extruded aluminum.
Surely someone must remember this stuff. It was on RV's not so long ago. Mine is a 1968.
