While your in-laws are factually correct who listens people with different views and more experience.
We home school but have never lived on the road in the MH for more than a month. Due to time and weather we just did a 3000 mile road trip by a full size SUV that far points from west KY include Vermont, Maine and we did DC, Liberty Bell and Statue of Liberty along the way. Seeing Walden's Pond was cool and where Revolution War started was cool. We had to be in Boston for three days for a trade show so we just make a school field trip out of it and was gone 10 days.
The main point with the rambling is there are cheaper ways to travel/live than by/in a DP. :)
Divorce could be expected if a couple are not together on the MH life style perhaps.
