My DW recently became a paraplegic. She uses the Amazon Echo to do a myriad of things she can no longer do for herself. Voice recognition technology has the potential to help many handicapped folks function in today's world. She even finds companionship in Alexa when I am not by her side. It helps her to know what the time is when she is not facing a clock, what the weather is doing outside or tell her a joke to lift her spirits, or even trun a light on or off. For her, it is a Godsend. If someone figures out how to hack our Echo, they will die from boredom from following our lives.
