If an item is sold, and fulfilled by Amazon, you don't have to deal with any "off shore" people. Amazon's return policy is one of the best.
Jeff Bezos has done an excellent job of seeing that returns are no arguments, no hassles, and fast. That's a far cry from almost any online store.
Prime is great.. good movie selection on internet, 2 day shipping on most stuff, and good prices. Maybe not ALWAYS the cheapest, but the service is killer. And you never have to call anyone, let alone "off shore".. it's all online.
