Amazon Same Day Delivery

I just noticed this morning when ordering some trim for my camper that Amazon is offering same day shipping. This is great because now I can start working on my camper first thing in the morning tomorrow.

How do they do it?

Being rural we buy almost everything on the internet. Amazon is getting faster but still takes them the 7 days by the time they get the stuff on the stage coach headed to NW Wyo. Plus they have to feed the horses before they leave.

That's your mistake, using the stage coach. Have you never heard of Pony Express.
  • I had 2 day free shipping until I wouldn't apply for their credit or debit card, then my order went to free shipping when they get around to it.

To be sure you get your overnight or two day shipping, shoppers must pay the fee charged for one day shipping if they do not have a Poat Office box at their home.

We're rural and will never have a PO Box on the road. With Amazon using 'Smart Post', their hand off system to the PO, we are assured confusion and hit and miss deliveries, depending if they punt the package to the PO, which has become increasingly common. That's the service with the annual Prime Membership fee.

The Prime Membership is almost useless for us rural folk.

Why don't you have a mail box????? I'd be confused too.

I'm rural too and I just use the standard shipping. It almost always gets here in 2-3 days. Comes by either UPS or Fed Ex. They drop it at my door step. I even gave them permission to put it in the porch if the weather is bad.

Nobody can put anything in you US Postal Service mail box except your mail carrier.

  • I usually opt for the standard delivery 5-7 days. I almost always get the item in two days. Only variance being if it is being drop shipped from manufacturer. I have no idea how they do it, the next quickest service is Wal-Mart online.
  • I placed an order Saturday night with the 2 day delivery option and the postman handed it to me on Monday morning. He told me that they had some special deal with Amazon where they even delivered some packages on Sundays.
  • I don't know but I ordered some stuff Saturday night (actually Sunday morning) and it was on my doorstep at 10:30 Sunday morning.

In this case, it was well worth the money abet a little pricey
