Better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it!
The vast majority of Canadians would disagree ... a civil society doesn't need 'em, doesn't want 'em. ;) So, back to what started this all - if you're an American wanting to come visit us here in Canada leave your guns at home ... thanks so much. :B
Reminds me of a neighbors attitude towards guns. Funny who did she call right after the Sheriff to bring my gun over to look thru the house as she was worried if her Daughter was injured somewhere inside the house. The house was a shambles and someone had ransacked the place. Her Daughter was supposed to be home but thankfully was at her Grandparents.
Civil Society? Forget about your Pig Farmer???
LOL! I'd nevah call anyone to come check to see if a robber was in the house besides NYPD cause most anyone else with a gun here would prolly be a criminal.
I will admit that the one time I called a friend to check on my grandmother I didn't assume foul play. More worried that she'd fallen and couldn't get up.
Upshot?
She was fine. Just busy in her garden and didn't feel like answering the phone for a few days...pfft.
There's a downside to being related to strong willed women of any age;).
