Angle of tow bar while towing

When towing my Chevy 1500 behind my motorhome the tow bar is angled up to the pu. There is probably a 12 inch rise from the motorhome to the pu connection. I am using a Blackhawk 2 tow bar. The question is does the towbar need to be more level? It appears to pull the front of the truck down a little.

Yes, it needs to be as close to level as you can make it. it really matters when you panic stop.

I agree. The towbar needs to be very close to level. You should do whatever it takes to make it happen.
  • The instructions that came with your tow bar state a rise/drop maximum of 3".
