- path1ExplorerEven though I already posted basically that you can't fix stupid.
I confess I got to close to some elk once. Backpacking with kids and we stopped at this really pretty lake and played around to long exploring. We didn't make it to camping spot to well after dark. On the way about dusk I was on trail and heard elk calling, but only at a distance. In the half dark, halve light I saw what looked liked to me a blown down tree. Dark brown with lighter brown patch. Keep walking and all of a sudden this "tree" moved and turned around and had a elks head attached to this "tree". I came up on the back side of it without noticing. If you haven't been up close to an elk they are pretty long legged and tall.
Also many years ago in Alaska driving a logging truck on a logging road and came across a Moose that just stood in the middle of road. Didn't move like most do. I stopped and waited, blew horn etc. Finally I rolled by real slow. That thing look at me almost eye level to eye level and I was in a truck. I never knew Moose were so tall till I looked straight across at on eye ball to eye ball.
By the way, the best meat of any wildlife is Moose IMO. Lean or leaner than elk but tastes better. - bukhrnExplorer III

I've never gone to college, but don't you have to pass an entrance exam, I doubt that woman could.
From where she was standing to where she got up was decent distance. She could get a job as a tackling dummy for the Crimson Tide. :-)
Sorry 2oldman, but you really can't. ;) - dodge_guyExplorer IIWell it went 2 weeks without an issue this time! Maybe now it can go to at least 3 weeks!
I can't believe how stupid some people are! We have coyotes around us and I never worried when I used to let my German Shepard out at night. Now with the new 20lb dog we keep her on the one side of he yard to keep her safe! And this is in the Chicago suburbs!
And one more thing, how long will it take people to realize that to record something you need to turn the phone so you can get the full frame video! It's almost as bad as walking up to a 500-2000lb animal! - Boon_DockerExplorer IIIShe never did get butted.
Quote from person who took the video: "Tibbitts told East Idaho News, however, that the woman was not hit but instead the elk stopped short of the woman and she tripped and fell. She appeared uninjured in the video.
But even so, pretty stupid. - Old-BiscuitExplorer III

That takes ALL the fun out of the video. :B - Jim_ShoeExplorerI'm constantly amazed by the number of Yellowstone visitors that think its a petting zoo. I watched a guy walk up to the south end of a north facing male elk with a full rack of horns, and slap him on the rump so he could get a picture of the elk's head. The elk just started grazing again.
Earlier in the day, I watched a young lady attempt to drive through a herd of Bison as they were crossing the road to a different pasture. She was complaining to a ranger because one of the bison head butted her driver's side door. BIG dent.
I don't think I could be a ranger there without punching somebody's lights out nearly every day. - 3oaksExplorer

Isn't there enough lies and deceit coming out of Washington and politicians running for election? :M - Boon_DockerExplorer III

No, you can't fix stupid. But, it was fun watching the elk try. :) - mowermechExplorerIIRC, the score last year in Yellowstone was Wildlife 5, tourists 0
So far this year, I think it is Wildlife 2, Tourists 0.
Please, folks, keep in mind there really IS a reason those animals are called WILD life; They ARE wild animals!
Yes, many of us who live close to the Park DO keep score!
