The GPS satellite system was designed to give location, and you check that "on the map" to see where you are
NOT tell the avg consumer where to drive
That is an adaptation, of automated mapping
I WILL USE Google maps or Google 'my tracks'
To show me where I'm at, or track how much I walk
But not to give me turn by turn directions and route me to my destination
It was big news here in Southern Calif
The elderly couple who decided to goto Vegas and followed the h GPS instructions and drove down a dead end desert dirt road
Became stuck
He tried to walk to get help and died , she was found many days later dehydrated but alive
Also the couple that tried to follow the GPS from Washington thru Nevada and died in the rural mountainous area
The stories are real
They maybe isolated and rare, but very real
You have to be aware of the surroundings and the situation
