First of all I am aware of the different c rated tires like the good year you linked… GY has about 6 different series of the (cargo) c rated tires in their stable including one called the Cargo Marathon…
Unfortunately I believe they would have the same opinions as the mfg. of Vanco c rated tires and is why GY doesn’t import them to the USA…
The same problem arise when using them as with the Vanco and most but not all of the other C rated tires… they are just short of the ST ratings…
It is interesting that the tire rack is importing and promoting them, and how they use the same product description for every tire even though they are from different mfg.… but I didn’t see any recommendation even from them for trailer use…
I am cautious of information I get from their website because I have found to many other errors there… one that comes to mind is they say the Kumho 857 is for trailer use only… the 857 is built primarily as a trailer tire but is also made for use on small trucks and vans…
The American tire and trailer industries have worked hard to create the trailer tire market, systemically eliminated the smaller LT sizes where they could, and lobbied hard to be able to cheaply build a special trailer tire…
They are not going to let it go easily and the Euro c ratted tires are putting a squeeze on them, so I am glad to see it happening…
in time I think either other tires will become available or they will attempt to cause the Euro small commercial truck industry to change to bigger rims… something they are already doing with tires sizes like 155x16c…
for the time being nothing has changed…
