Anti-fragility ...

In the old days it was called being flexible; going with the flow; or even "Zen". Now the generation after us calls it "becoming anti-fragile". Any way you look at it, there's still good ideas here for enjoying the "chaos monkeys" that come with RVing. Embrace your chaos monkeys!
First, here are some principles that come from Antifragile:

Stick to simple rules
Build in redundancy and layers (no single point of failure)
Resist the urge to suppress randomness
Make sure that you have your soul in the game
Experiment and tinker—take lots of small risks
Avoid risks that, if lost, would wipe you out completely
Don’t get consumed by data
Keep your options open
Focus more on avoiding things that don’t work than trying to find out what does work
Respect the old—look for habits and rules that have been around for a long time
The general underlying principle here is to play the long game, keep your options open and avoid total failure while trying lots of different things and maintaining an open mind.

Things that don’t fit into these principles (that you’re probably more familiar with):

Giving something up cold turkey
Going all in with a single big change for a short period of time
Tracking everything
Using the latest and greatest gadgets and apps

  • Maybe reduce your tire pressure, that constant jarring can cause severe head aches too.

This is brilliant "Embrace your chaos monkeys!" and would be appropriate to put in the RV Sayings thread. I didn't want to plagiarize your words so I did not copy it there. Thanks for this post though. As an "elderly" citizen it gives me pause to reflect on some of my approach to these retirement years of my life.

Ta, Mike. You and I have the life experiences to understand it.

  • I'll have two pints of whatever the OP is drinking please...
  • And use those little 7 day pill boxes with the daily dose compartments so one doesn't forget their meds.
