Personally I do not like the tankless. We camp a lot in National parks without hookups. I have a hard time getting the water the temperature I like. It has to have the induced draft blower running to work which takes battery power. I also think I waste a lot of water waiting for the shower to get warm, also bad when camping without hookups.
That said, mine is an earlier version and does not have the better temperature control I believe the new ones have. I will be changing mine out this fall or early spring with a 6 gallon gas/electric standard type heater. I am still looking for ways to conserve water because with either, it is a pretty long trip from the heater to the shower.
