Over about thirty five years I have realized that electric trailer brakes are not like car drum brakes. You need to manually adjust them to lock up and back off 4 to six clicks. Any more and you wind up with little to no brake force. Cars, always adjust to lock up and back off 10 to 12 clicks. The reason is hydraulics have more movement than the old fashioned electric magnet.
