Any Kia or Hyundai users?

we got our Winnebago B+ in Oct, now are looking for a towed vehicle and these 2 are on sales events now. So need to know if anyone has them and the pros cons of each. The Hyundai is supposed to be a upgrade over the Kia (owned by same company). Looking at Rio/Aspect, Forte/Elantra.

  • I tow a 2012 Hyundai Accent SE with the six speed manual transmission four wheels down. Lightweight, stows plenty of gear, and is economical transportation at destinations.
  • We are currently pulling a 2013 Kia Soul W/ Manual trans. We love the car it a great all around car and light toad.
  • I pulled a 2004 automatic Hyundai XG350 all over the US and Canada 4 down. We had a transmission pump, but the setup worked fine. The trans pump even came with a special fitting that fit the trans pan so you didn't have to take the pan down to drill it for the pump line.
  • If you're asking about the vehicles themselves, I can tell you I've owned 3 Hyundais since 1990 and have been very happy with each of them. All have been driven to high miles with very little expense. The excellent warranty has covered a couple of issues which I can't now recall. IMO, great vehicles not only for the price, but just great vehicles. If you're asking about their towability, I can't help, nor do I have any insight about Kias.
  • As long as you understand that they can only be towed 4-down with manual transmissions, go for it. If you need an automatic, then you are looking at Honda (Fit or CRV), Ford, and some GM models.
