As others said, it's a majority of older people into rving. The sad thing is that younger people either don't want to do it or they think they can't afford to do it. Which is sad. You don't have to have a big ol 42' DP to do it. An old pop up will serve you and the family just fine and give you all a lifetime of memories.
Brian!
I cannot agree with you more, but younger families are being shunned
by local chapters.
P.S. Look at the pictures of every sanctioned Ralley, the entertainment for kids is pathetic IMOP
When we had kids at home we owned a pop-up because that was what we could afford. We took them all over the continent in it. We never went to a rally and never regretted it. I cannot understand why rallies are considered such an integral part of RVing. In a country full of beautiful national and state parks and lots of other things to see, who needs to sit around some fairground looking a hundreds of other RVs?
I can agree with that. With that being said, we may try to go to the big rally in Atlanta this year. Just to check it out. The smaller local chapter type get together a don't really appeal to us. We've met several people from the forum at campgrounds and have had fun interacting with them. Even gone to a campground in the area to visit them while we weren't camping and met another from the forum. We often like to do our own thing and the local chapter camp outs make us feel that we have to do what others want and on their schedule. We our at our mid 40's and maybe our thoughts on this will change as we get older.
