Our kids are graduating from high school now, and interest in camping with Mom and Pops is declining (which doesn't surprise me). When we were actively camping with the younger kids -- some summers we had 10 weekend trips planned -- we were looking for "resort" campgrounds with lots of kid things to do.
I read here and on other forums about rallies, and I just didn't see that my kids would be much interested at all in doing that. Now that Mom and myself are looking at camping trips for just the two of us, I think I might look into rallies.
Honestly I am not surprised that rallies generally don't target families, unless they are specifically geared for that type of camping event.
