at the risk of hi-jacking the OP, what type of antenna do you use and where do you install it? Currently I am pulling a popup, so a mag mount on top of the jeep works fine, but not sure that would be feasible when we move up to class A.
Go by Clays CB Shop in San Antonio. One of the top ten shops in the U.S. On IH10E Ackerman Road Exit across from Petro Travel Center; east of Loop 410. I've used them 20-years. Good, but not great website.
I enjoy CB and have separate set ups for work truck, personal truck and travel trailer. There's nothing else like another set of eyes and ears on the road to let you know a situation ahead. I also enjoy the company when on the road. Used an earphone when still married. I also use up to date Garmin, and apps for phone as am a pro driver. The CB is always icing on the cake. And is often the only information when far away from population centers when on or near Interstates.
The better the system, the greater the distance in receive and transmit (with conditions noted).
The setup for the pickup has the best "ears" (receive) as well as digital signal processing for sound. An enormous difference between this and entry level. Makes it a whole new experience.
