If a dump station has a hose in close proximity, it I should never be used for potable water for the exact reason the poster saw. If a location has a fill stand for potable water it is usually and should separated from the dump station enough so that neither hose will reach the other location. Never think about using a hose by a dump station for anything but dumping.
