We were Independent Contractors and yes, our RV was part of our business. All the information you receive here is worth what you are paying for it, absolutely NOTHING. You NEED the advice of a tax lawyer or a CPA, based in your home state, not Joe Blow that may or may NOT have any knowledge of you and your business.
DO NOT put any advertising on your RV OR truck, if you want to be left alone by the truck cops. The minute you wrap either, you are then considered to be a commercial entity requiring the proper licenses, registrations, log books, fuel tax permits, etc. Once you wrap it, you will be REQUIRED to stop at every scale, port of entry, etc and the fine for NOT complying is extremely high.
Good luck with your venture, but do get "professional" assistance to keep your business viable and out of the IRS scrutiny
