Anyone been turned away from campground for older rig?

Nope, never been told or been to a campground that had an age limit. I wouldn't stay in one if they did, even my camper was a new model or not. Too stuck-upp-itidy in my opinion!

I do believe this is the first campground anywhere in Indiana that has this rule. I'm actually kind of surprised.

Ha! I just looked at their web site. Funny their sign says, "Welcome to Admore / Plenty of spaces and smiley faces".... yea, probably plenty of spaces because no one goes there!

Let this one pass! I'm disappointed and embarrassed for Indiana!

Well I wanted to stay south until that snowstorm went thru Indiana!! I dont drive in bad weather. But I did move to Charlestown State Park and it is nice, altho the sites are a bit open. I am hoping to head north again tomorrow. Winter, winter go away.........

I've been turned down for reservations. I have a 1987 TT. Typical tan color with brown and red stripes. Not horrible looking. Just looks 80s.

What I've been told by most is that they have a general 10 year rule, but the manager could inspect it and allow it. Of course, if he says no, now you lose your deposit and have to find a new place. So I won't even try it.

Now, I call ahead and make sure there's no age restrictions. Just did this for my summer vacation reservation. Called about 12 places in Oregon and Washington and none had ever heard of age restrictions.

I've never come across it in Ca either (yet). So far, only Nevada and Arizona

I've never come across it before, but have heard of it. I'm sure they would let a nice looking older rig in (they want your $$), but is using the rule as an 'out' if they don't want you for whatever reason.

Usually the management will accept a few photos or video of your RV and of anyone who will be staying in your RV. They will make a decision to allow or not. We've had to send photos twice and were allowed to stay each time.

most times its used to keep trash out, reword how you tell them about your rig. offer them to inspect before you pull into a spot.

Never been denied because my RV is less than 10 years old. But I have been asked. Thought about it, and while I understand that the purpose is to keep out junkers, it seems to me that basing the decision on age of the rig is asking the wrong question in the first place. I've seen plenty of vintage RVs that were beautifully restored and I've seen ones just a couple years old that were wrecks. My policy is, if they feel a need to ask that question, I just go elsewhere.

That said, I fully support campground owners desire to cater to folks who'll treat the premises gently and refrain from creating eyesores wherever they go.

I've never run into a cg that had an age limit on campers. However, I once asked about it and was told 'no, we only have age limits on the drivers'. Stay there whenever in the area.

Charlestown SP is nice we stayed there last year and enjoyed it. Add-more needs to update their photo gallery- I think I saw some rigs older than 10 years on it....the snow has stopped for now in Elkhart- silly me took the snow brush out of the car the other day, there's a few inches on it.

Well the whole idea is silly for people who are staying one night, either age of driver restrictions or age of "rig" restrictions. I have seen age of driver restrictions for "destination" places, even age of camper. I have camped winters all over Florida since 2011, camped east to coast, west to coast but I dont really reserve ahead of time. Just drive in and ask. I have to say the place I found for my winter destination this year, Stage Stop Campground, has no such restrictions and I like that. I dont want to hand over my money to anyplace that discriminates I guess. But then I moved out of the upscale gated type suburbs where I grew up and now live in a big city and love it for all the diversity.
