Anyone been turned away from campground for older rig?

I have a conversion van very similar to, but not as old as, the OP. Also have a small trailer like he does.
I took out the extra seating, installed a sink and cabinet, water system, fridge, microwave, hot plate, porta potty, rubbermade drawer set, and cot. It has a built in generator that can run the AC. Also put a solar panel on roof to charge the extra battery.
I consider that a camper van.
