Even though I've been turned down a few times, it was over the phone. Turned down isn't the right word. I declined based on the rule..
To be fair, the people on the phone all said it was subject to approval. And that as long as it wasn't run down, it'd be ok. But that's too subjective and I didn't want to head into a location without reservations.
I'm huge on people's rights. Including their right to own a place and tell me I'm not welcome. I'm ok with that.
I believe the 10 year rule is just an arbitrary number. It's really hard to define run down on a website. I did have one place tell me to send a pic. They approved it in the 20 seconds it took for that pic to reach them.
I'm perfectly ok with that too.
I think it's just something that we, as a community of RVers, need to advertise more. If you rig is older than 10, or looks obviously in need of repair, call first. That seems reasonable to me.
