I have seen this rule, but it is usually associated with places called "RV Resort".
The best joke is that our chapter of our type specific organization was going to have a rally. The wagon master heard of a nice place and arranged it. He hadn't seen it or they him. Happened to be that he got by there about 2 weeks before the start date. He went in to sign up for just the night. They asked how old was the coach and he answered honestly. They then explained their 10 year rule. He said that they should wait right there and went out to his coach and got the registration list. He went back in and asked that they cancel all 33 reservations. He would save them all the work if they would just write him a check or give him the credit slips for all of them. They did.
He went about 6 miles to the campground he had passed and found out it was nicer, less expensive and the owners were wonderful people.
The newest coach in our chapter is 37 this year and mine is 42.
