My guess is way more often than not, this 10 year rule is used as a "just in case" rule, meaning it allows the owner some say in keeping out derelict/junk units. It's their business, and their neck. I don't blame them for wanting to control what comes in and what doesn't.
There will be people who will not want to camp at a campgrounds with a bunch of "trashy" campers around.
The great thing about this country is that the owners can do as they wish with their business, and the consumer can do what they wish with their money.
I will say one "discriminatory" rule I don't understand is the "no travel trailers allowed" rule. We were looking to stay at an RV park near Traverse City, and I found a really nice looking one. As I was about to make reservations I noticed that they only allowed motor homes and 5th wheels! I understand and don't have a problem with a business owner setting forth the rules they will enforce...again, is is their business. And the 10 year old rule (or it's purpose) it at least understandable even if you don't agree with it......
But to keep out all travel trailers? This was about 3 years ago....so our Jayco Eagle would have been only 4 years old then and in great shape (still is). It looks very nice.... THere is a rule I don't get...:h
