Anyone been turned away from campground for older rig?

I couldnt be sure how much snow across upper Indiana so rather be safe. The temp is supposed to start rising tomorrow. Then I am heading for Caboose Lake Campground in Remington, IN. Next day to Milwaukee. Just a day late is all. No need to hurry.

What if my money is over ten years old??

Personally if they have that rule they don't see my money even though my camper is only 9 years old.

Plenty of other campgrounds without the rule.

I've never heard of a blacklist for campers. However, you should write something about this campground in rvparkreviews.com, the black list for campgrounds

That's ridicules! What's next are they going to check the expriry dates marked on my food in the TT?

One time; in Salem Or.

Called to see if they had an opening. They did so I went there in a friends car. Filled out the forms and was ready to pay the guy in cash and he said I couldn't stay there. I asked why not? He said because my trailer was too old. They could not take anything older than 10 years. I was going to hammer on the guy, but then thought better because the old guy just worked there and was just following the rules set up for him.

As we drove out I had to laugh because there were several rigs older than mine and in waaaaaaaaay worse shape.

No big deal, I just drove down the road and got a cheaper place that was almost just as nice and we had a great time there. It worked out for them and me. All was good! :)

I would never consider a review valid from someone that never stayed in the CG. This CG is privately owned and operated and they make their own rules. If they said "no children allowed" I'd move on....I wouldn't consider it discrimination, I'd considerate it their business practice that doesn't deserve my business.

There's camping from your point of view, and there's camping from the proprietor's pov.

Places out in the areas we travel (western states) have a 10 year rule or "pride of ownership". The old scapegoat clause.

I've heard of the restrictions before. Age seems to be a random, unreliable way to "keep out the trash". I've seen some fairly new rv's that look like garbage, and perhaps the coolest looking rig I've camped near was a fully restored 1950 something bus. It was beautiful!

As far as blacklisting goes....we camped at a place last year that stated in their rules that if you left the place trashed they would notify all the other campgrounds in the area and you would be "blacklisted". Actually, I was good with that.

I think that the criteria
should be if or not the unit is paid for!
