It's not vandalism or harmful to a tree to cut a small limb off. I'm not paying to stay at a site that won't allow me to put my awning out because of someone else's laziness. I carry a small hand saw. They should thank me for doing their maintenance work for them.
Sure it is vandalism to cut parts of their property. Where do you live? I'll gladly prune your trees for my enjoyment...
Plus, in PA State Parks- it's illegal to cut down live growth. Not sure why a private park would be different.
