We flat tow an FJ cruiser auto 4x4, which is similar. I looked into the driveshaft disconnect, but it was over $1000, and of questionable durability for off-roading. For the dozen or so times we have towed it, i just remove the driveshaft. It takes maybe five minutes, two wrenches, no jack. So far. I have paid myself $500 an hour for lying on my back with a wrench!
